A food, travel and lifestyle blog dedicated to the gratification of the senses and the indulgence of appetite

My Story

Hi!  It’s Tammy and this is my food blog!  This has been a work in progress since 2016.  It started with the name.  It just came to me one day, so I immediately purchased the domain name and just sat on it for a while.

About 10+ years ago I asked a friend of mine what blogging was.  He didn’t know.  I thought he would since he specialized in IT.  I had read about it somewhere and it sounded like something I’d be interested in doing.  Partially because most of my life I have kept a journal and for the most part having a blog is essentially an online journal.  Although blogging has come a really long way since then!  I so wish I had pursued it then!  I would be a pro at this now!  Part of the reason it’s taken me so long to get this up and running is my lack of tech experience!  Not my thing!  I can cook and make cocktails!!  🙂

Cooking and entertaining has always been my passion – even when I was a little girl.  Now I have my very own special place to share all things culinary.

Everyone always asks what’s your specialty.  Honestly, I don’t have one.  I have been cooking my whole life and can make just about anything.  Everyone in the blogging world says you must have a niche.  I totally get that, but for the moment, I do not.  I have no idea where this blog is going – if anywhere.  It’s just a project for now.  One that will constantly evolve and be fine tuned over time.  I have so many ideas that sometimes I feel like my head is going to explode!  I’m just going to keep at it and see what happens.

I love EVERYTHING culinary.  Great restaurants, specialty markets, farmers markets, intimate cocktail and dinner parties, tapas bars…….. you name it.  I love cooking for friends, family and neighbors.  I love when I travel to a new place and get to try different cuisines.  I hate malls and shopping in general, but love to go to the grocery store.  No one in my family will go grocery shopping with me.  Apparently I take too long.  My sister says I take 20 minutes to pick out just one tomato.  I love baking homemade bread, but since I’m not a bread lover I usually just give it away.  It’s the same when I make chocolate truffles or homemade toffee.  I like to make, but do not have a sweet tooth, so I give it all away.  I’m a savory girl for sure.  I don’t even like “sweet” cocktails.  Give me a big fat Dirty Martini stuffed w/ Blue Cheese Olives any day and I will make a meal out of that!

If you are interested in getting notifications for new blog posts (which I hope you are), please subscribe!  In the meantime, please feel free to drop me a note on the contact page – I would love to hear from you!!  I hope you stay tuned and watch this as it evolves!  EAT. SIP. PLAY.
